Spike Spiegel, Age 27 A former member of the Syndicate who broke free by "dying", and now scours the galaxy for fugitives as a bounty hunter. He is very skilled in both armed and hand-to-hand combat. Spike keeps to himself, and even though he is usually very co-operative, is known to go out on his own and fulfil his compulsions from Bandai DVD: As a member of the Red Dragons, Chinese mafia group, Spike was impetuous and volatile, and had a sense of what was right. Now, however, he is cool and self-possessed, and has taken steps to hide his past so that he can live a free life. Together with his partner, Jet Black, Spike the bounty hunter flits from planet to planet in the spaceship Bebop. Relishing new encounters and loving danger, he never forgets to crack a joke no matter how dire his predicament. A practitioner of Jeet Kune Do... Spike is never defeated in an unarmed melee combat. He attaches little value to money or the concept of justice, but he will always fulfill his obligations. He believes in accomplishing everything in his own way and has utter faith in his own values. As a result of this, he is always embroiled in some kind of trouble. He excels at Sword Fish II, a form of high-speed combat, and his privately built "baby" is the fastest ship of its type. This ship is a customized version of one originally developed for racing in asteroid belts. He worships the martial artist and philosopher Bruce Lee as his spiritual master.
	Jet Black, Age 36 A former Police Dog. The Black Dog. He maintains the Bebop and does most of the cooking. He and Faye don't particularly get along. From the Bandai DVD: The ever steadfast Jet Black is a man who, with his old-world principles, lives at odds with his age's callous wind of change. His is a life of duty and compassion for his fellow man: 'Abhor the sin, not the sinner.' A man of eclectic tastes, he takes pleasure in Goethe even as he indulges his passion for Charlie Parker. Although a compulsive gambler, Jet ordinarily finds peace of mind tending to his bonsai. He is also a competent cook. In his younger years he was a member of the ISSP (Inter Solar Systems Police). Back whhen he was a hotshot officer, and was known by the nickname Black - "once he gets his teeth in you, he doesn't let go" - Dog. But he retired from the ISSP following an incident that left him badly injured and requiring cybernetic implants. Before too long, however, he had begun his life as a bounty hunter. On Ganymede, a deeply familiar place to Jet, he rebuilt a second-hand space trawler into a spaceship he named Bebop. Since teaming up with Spike (they ran into each other three years ago), Jet has made good use of his contacts, the majority of which were made when he was in the ISSP, and is responsible for planning operations and gathering intelligence. Jet's "baby" is a reconstructed Sack Fish, originally built as a catcher boat, called Hammerhead.
	Edward Wong Hau Pepelu Tivrusky IV, Age 13? This girl, yes, girl, though young, is a hacker extra-ordinaire. She is famous throughout the galaxy for her skills. Curious, carefree, and definitely silly, she adds a spice of life to the Bebop. From the Bandai DVD: It is known that she was born on the Earth and is claiming to be 13 years old now. In the Net world, where she probably spends more time than the real world, she is famous as "Radical Edward" which was named after her unpredictable and fearless hacking technique. According to very few people knowing her actual existence, she still lives on the abandoned Earth, living like a Bohemian, but in fact, no one has seeeeeee... 	Ein, Age 2 yrs? Just a puppy, Ein was stolen from a laboratory which conducted experiments on him. This dog has super intelligence. He came to be on the Bebop when Spike rescued him from a bounty that he and Jet were persuing. His breed is Welsh Corgi. From the Bandai DVD: People refer to the dog as Ein. Ein is a Welsh Corgi with characteristic stubby, almost unwieldy, legs and a tailless rump. At a glance Ein appears to be nothing more than a somewhat charming two-year-old dog, and yet he conceals a great secret of which no one is yet aware. So what is Ein, then? In fact, he is an illegal "data dog", which was developed bby a certain research group, through many months of research and a phenomenal amount of capital. Supposedly, his trade price in collectors' circles is astronomical. But what is a data dog? What does it do? No surprise to find that that, too, is a secret. Ein behaves at times as if possessed of an intellect that affords perfect comprehension of human speech and, on occasions, enables even the utilization of telephones and computers. A dog to the last however, Ein never speaks in the human tongue. As a consequence, the true details remain shrouded in the dark. But even so, the fact that he has a liking for carrots and has an intensely curious if a little incautious nature is seemingly understood by even the crew of the Bebop.
